Given it's been so cold, wet and grey, The George in Rye is looking to inject some jazz, glamour and high-jinks into proceedings.
On Friday 29th September we host a Black and White Ball in our spectacular Regency Ballroom. A glass of bubbly from Chapel Down and a three course dinner with carefully chosen wines will be followed by Waltz and Cha Cha demonstrations by two talented local dancers. Then, accompanied by the vintage sounds of Alan Bannister's All Star Band, you'll be able to dance the night away. Those feeling less confident about their dancing abilities (which includes us...) can have free informal lessons earlier in the afternoon. Tickets to the ball are £60 per person all inclusive and you can find out more here.
If energising is what you need you might be interested in our yoga break between the 16th - 18th October. Over the three days you will be tutored in the Benson Room by Elaine Fletcher, an extremely experienced yoga instructor who has a particular interest in osteopathy. Through her classes, you'll learn how to find the natural alignment of your body, undo physical tension and free your breathing. In each of her five sessions, Elaine will attend both to beginners and those more experienced who seek to deepen their practice. There will be plenty of time for relaxing, too, and the break includes dinner each night. A perfect recharge to get you ready for winter and the festive season (sorry, it's far too early to be talking about that). The full programme and prices can be seen here.
We're thrilled the one of our bedrooms has made the cover photo of the new Mr and Mrs Smith Guide to the UK and Ireland. It's out in September so take a look if you're in a bookshop....
Best Wishes
Alex and Katie Clarke
